I have been a nighttime person for as long as I can remember. I work nights and usually get home about 10:30 pm. So a 1:00 am bedtime isn’t unusual, even with babies.
Peyton doesn’t sleep very good. She has never slept through the night, consistently, EVER! She is now 4 1/2 and we now have 2 children on completely opposite sleeping schedules. With my husband working days and me working evenings, We have had to shake up our routines a bit to help even things out. And spend some quality time together.
We decided to make the most of our mornings together. We started to get up at 5:45 am.
The first week or so was a bit rough, but we got through it ok.
This is how I started to fall in love with my mornings again.
1. 10 min. Of prep the night before.
Prep coffee, pick out clothes, layout lunch stuff, clean off counter and sink.
2. Get up 45 min. before you have to wake up kids.
No snooze, set your coffee pot, take a hot shower.
3. Coffee…….To myself.
This is my favorite, but whatever you enjoy or look forward to in your quiet time, do that.
4. Drink Water – Drink Water – Drink Water
I can not stress this one enough, Water will make you feel better, our bodies need it, crave it. I try to drink 1 bottle of water before my Son leaves for the bus stop.
Whatever it is in my to-do list, It is better with music.
6. Breakfast This really is the most important meal of the day.
Breakfast helps to let your body know that it is time to start our day.
7. Break a sweat
This one is a big one for me, I feel so much better and am SO much more productive on days that I broke a sweat in the morning.
The major thing that changed for me, Is the productivity of my day. Every single day I got a little more done, I got more done in the morning than I would usually get done by 4.

This is my list of things I do every morning. These things help make me more productive, more active and all around feel better. I have learned to appreciate my days better. I truly have fallen in love with my mornings again.
